ZTE Axon 7 Mini gets Android 7.1.1 Nougat

Chinese manufacturer ZTE is rolling out the Android Nougat 7.1.1 to their Axon 7 Mini smartphones in USA. The smartphone is the “Mini” variant of Axon 7, which already started receiving Nougat update from back in March. Now, the Axon 7 Mini becomes the next device to receive the update after it’s bigger version Axon u.

The update is via OTA (Over The Air). Update to Android Nougat brings many features with some extra dsons from OEM too. Now, the ZTE Axon 7 Mini users can also use T-Mobile’s Wi-Fi calling feature. With this feature, users can text and call between nearby supporting devices over WiFi without incurring a single byte of data. Here is the complete changelog for the update, officially from ZTE USA:

  •  Android 7.1.1 provides updated emojis, plus the ability to use two or more languages at once. Communicating is now easier (and more fun) than ever.
  • Not only can you text in two languages, but you can “be in two places” at once! Android N gives you the ability to switch between apps or run them side-by-side. How fast can you multitask?
  • Android N also provides the ability to save even more battery power, revamped notification updates and a whole lot more so you can customize the Axon 7 Mini even more.
  • With T-Mobile Wi-Fi Calling support you can now talk and text without using data!

If you are a ZTE Axon 7 Mini user, you can check if it hits your device from settings panel as follows: Settings>System Update > Start update. Before downloading update, make sure that your device has atleast 30% of battery charge (over 70% recommended).
