Today, Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi released the Kernel Source code for the company’s subbrand budget smartphone model POCOPHONE POCO F1. Developers can now get the source code for the smartphone firmware right from the Github repository which the company announced earlier.
Xiaomi seems to be keeping the promise of development support as they announced during the launch of the POCO F1 smartphone. As like every other Xiaomi branded devices, the POCO labeled phones are also highly development support. The smartphone comes with the customized MIUI 9.6 which is established over the Android 8.1 Operating System. The upcoming version of the company’s skin, MIUI 10, is also expected to hit soon.
By making the Kernel Source Code public, the company is providing the facility for every developer and companies to work on custom ROMs, recoveries, etc. As it widens the smartphone’s development possibilities, it is sure that more and more customers will be attracted to the product.
After the official launch, the POCO F1 went on the first sale in India today and sold out over 100,000 units in 5 minutes. The smartphone packs the Snapdragon 845 Chipset, 6GB/8GB RAM on board. But, the smartphone is available starting from US$299, which makes it a better option compared to the OnePlus 6.
