Xiaomi India starts sending out the press invitations across the country for a new smartphone launch on June 7. The company seems to be getting ready to release the Redmi S2 smartphone in India. The Redmi S2 is basically the stepped-down Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 with an appearance resembling the Redmi Not 5 Pro with some minor hardware changes.
Xiaomi’s Redmi S2 smartphone comes with a 5.99-inch HD+ display having the pixel density up to 269ppi. The device carries Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 Chipset under the hood, clocked at 2.0GHz. Concerning the smartphone models available currently in China, the device is to arrive in two memory variants – 3GB/32GB or 4GB/64GB. It also supports SD Card up to 256GB. Redmi S2 sports dual rear camera, pairing 12MP main sensor and a secondary 5MP Zoom lens. The elfe snapper is of 16MP.
Android Oreo running smartphone does not come with a USB Type-C port. Instead, the conventional micro USB port along with the 3.5mm headphone jack resides within the frame. Unlike other successful Redmi smartphones, the Redmi S2 will only have a battery pack of 3080mAh.
So far, no pricing details regarding the smartphone are out yet. However, we assume the device would be available to purchase from INR 9,999 or lesser.
