Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has finally released the flagship bezel-less smartphone Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S in a conference held in China. The smartphone manufacturer has released the devices the successor to the Mi MIX 2, which launched early-2017. The Xiaomi MI MIX 2S flagship smartphone, just like its predecessor, has a bezel-less display, but with a slightly thicker bezel at the bottom chin. The device is made of Ceramic and Metal frames, having a dual-camera setup on the rear panel.
Concerning the hardware specification, the Mi MIX 2S holds the top-notch specifications including a Full HD+ LCD sized at 5.99-inches, having an aspect ratio of 18:9. The smartphone is powered with Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 845 Chipset having a clock rate up to 2.9GHz. Under the hood, the smartphone boasts the primary memory (aka RAM) up to 8GB and the internal storage space of 256GB. The base variants for the smartphone has 6GB of RAM along with 64GB128GB of storage space.
According to the DxOMark benchmarking results, the Xiami Mi MIX 2S has the best photography camera in the segment, with the score of 101. The total score is 97, just behind the Pixel 2 and Galaxy S9+. The smartphone pairs 12MP+12MP sensors on the rear mounted vertically at the top left corner, just like the Redmi Note 5/Pro. The rear-facing primary camera departments boast OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), enabled with AI-powered dynamic bokeh effect. The selfie cam is set to 5Megapixels, mounted at the front bottom, resembles Mi MIX 2.
On the software side, the smartphone runs Android 8.0 skinned with MIUI 9.5 on the top. The Chinese giant also introduced an AI Personal Assistant named XiaoAI, equivalent to Google Assistant. The smartphone is juiced with a 3,400mAh battery pack backed with 7.5W Qi Standard Mi Wireless Charger. The pricing as listed starts at CNY3,299 ($530) for 6GB+64GB version, CNY3,599 ($575) for 6GB+128GB version , and CNY3,999 ($640) for 8GB+256GB versions.
