Xiaomi joins the Google’s Android One initiative with its brand new smartphone announced today in India, the Xiaomi Mi A1. The Mi A1 comes with a Dual Camera Setup, Similar Hardware to Xiaomi Mi 5X and running on the pure stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat. The latest addition to the Android One lineup, promises low-cost phone with great specification and comes with the tagline of “created by Xiaomi, powered by Google.”
The Xiaomi Mi A1 has a 5.5-inch FullHD IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolutions, powered by Octa-core 2.0 GHz Snapdragon 625 chipset paired with Adreno 506 and 4 GB of RAM. It has 64 GB internal storage upgradeable up to 128 GB via Hybrid microSD slot. It comes with Android 7.1.2 out of the box, while the manufacturer guarantees Android 8.0 Oreo update by end of the year. It is also said the device will be first to receive the Android P.
Taking about its USP, the Mi A1 sports a Dual Camera with 12 MP sensors (12MP Telephoto lens + 12MP Wide Angle lens) with dual tone dual-LED flash and a 5 MP secondary camera for selfies. The rear camera feature includes geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, and panorama mode.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, A-GPS, GLONASS, IR Blaster, and 4G VoLTE. The Mi A1 packs a decent 3,080 mAh battery can be charged through USB Type-C. It also has a fingerprint scanner placed on its rear panel, below the camera setup.
The Xiaomi’s first Android One smartphone comes in three different colour variants including, Black, Gold, Rose Gold and will be made available in 37 various countries across the world including India, UAE, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Colombia, Egypt, Hong Kong, Singapore and Mexico.
Xiaomi Mi A1 is priced in India at Rs.14,999 (~233 USD) and its sales will go live on September 12 at 12 PM in their Offline Store Mi Home, and the Online Stores Mi.com and Flipkart.
