Finally, Vivo has unveiled their successive model in V-series, Vivo V9 in the Indian market today. The smartphone comes with some special features and physical characteristics. For the first time in the country, Vivo launched a smartphone with a metal unibody panel, along with the metal frame. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 22,990, available to purchase from Flipkart Online Store.
Vivo V9 comes with a 6.3-inch Full HD+ display, having an aspect ratio of 19:9. The ratio difference (from the usual 18:9) is because of the notch added at the top edge of the display, like Apple iPhone X. In the meantime, Vivo is not the only brand to parrot the display-notch design. Many brands like Huawei, OPPO, UMIDIGI, etc. have already revealed their plans for the smartphones with the notch cutting. Technically, this helps in adapting the front facing camera, sensors and the User Interface Status Bar on the same line. Thus, the rest 18:9 portion of the display will serve as the view space, without any extra space for the Status bar. Vivo calls this tech FullView™ Display 2.0 and claims to have a screen-to-body ratio of 90%.
The smartphone is powered with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 626 SoC, coupled with 4GB of RAM onboard. The internal storage of 64GB can be expanded using SD Card. The device runs Android 8.1 Oreo skinned with FunTouch OS 4.0 on the top.
Vivo V9 sports 16MP+5MP dual setup on the rear camera department, featuring Portrait Mode, Ultra HD, Slo-mo, Live Photos, Retina Flash, AR Sticker, etc. Coming to the front-facing selfie sensor, we could see a 24 MP AI Selfie Camera. Apart from the fingerprint scanner provided at the rear panel, the company also offers a face recognition feature backed with AI which also optimises the smartphone performance.
You can purchase the smartphone from any Vivo authorized outlets and through online from Flipkart, priced at Rs. 22,990.
