The Chinese tech giant Vivo just launched their newest smartphone in India. Today, the company announced the launch of their new Android smartphone Vivo V9 Youth. As the name suggests this phone is targetting young generations and offers some similar features in Vivo V9 original variant. But it is a lower variant of the original model with a reduced price and low-powered hardware inside.
As mentioned above, the new model is a customised inexpensive variant of the recently launched Vivo V9 flagship device. It comes with the same design and same form factors. However, it does have different hardware and a low-powered chipset. It runs on an Octa-core Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 450 chipset under the hood. It is paired with a 4GB of RAM – same as the higher variant. But it offers a 32GB of internal storage only. We can expand the storage space for up to 256GB using a microSD card. However, Vivo is offering a dedicated slot for microSD cards instead of the hybrid slots. So that you don’t have to worry about the storage space.
Talking about the camera department, it comes with a dual rear camera system with one 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. Unlike the higher variant, it has a small sensor for the front camera. It comes with an AI-powered 16-megapixel sensor for the selfies. Vivo has just downgraded the camera of the V9 series to make it less expensive than the higher variant.
The Vivo V9 Youth comes with a 15.51cm (6.3-inch) FullView™ Display 2.0 display with 19:9 aspect ratio. So the display is exactly same as the higher variant. It features the same 3260 mAh battery with no fast charging capabilities. The smartphone runs on the Funtouch OS 4.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box.
Kenny Zeng, CMO, Vivo India said, “At Vivo, we are continually pushing norms to make cutting edge technology available to everyone at a competitive price. With the launch of the Vivo V9 Youth, we are bringing the best features of our flagship V9 in a new avatar for our young and modern consumers. Packed with a host of cutting-edge features, the Vivo V9 Youth is the perfect smartphone for consumers who want a holistic and powerful smartphone experience at a competitive price.”
