Sony never really cared about keeping up with their competitors when it comes to making huge controversies or giant launch events. And it’s only in 2018 that they have finally managed to pull off an 18:9 display panel and also an OLED display, while the competition has been doing this since years!
Now we have CAD based leaks suggesting to that Sony is working on the XZ4 and that it will incorporate a rather unusual tall screen with a triple camera system on its back. Thanks to @OnLeaks and @MySmartPrice that we have these renders now.
This will be Sony’s first triple camera phone where only the Xperia XZ2 Premium only had a dual camera to its side. That too a monochrome 12MP sensor.
The Screen on the XZ4 is supposed to be a 6.5-Inch diagonal screen with a 19:5:9 aspect ratio and thankfully no notch! Thank you, Sony. The device comes in at 8.2mm thickness and tall by 166.9mm.
As in the renders we don’t see a fingerprint sensor on the back, this could mean two things as it is from Sony, either it could be an in-display fingerprint scanner much like that of what we have seen in the OnePlus 6T or a side power button mounted sensor as we have seen in olden Sony device, the latter seems to be coming into place here as we take a serious look at its design of the power button.
Another one new change we can see as far as the design language is considered is a bottom-firing loudspeaker. That might help the Japanese firm to get an even higher screen-to-body ratio, now even with the removal of Sony branding to the bottom bezel.
Sony Xperia XZ4 is excepted to hit in MWC February next year.
