Till today, the tips referred the SM-T380 and SM-T 385 will be named as Galaxy Tab A8.0. But today, the news changed that, they will be called as Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S. The news came from twitter, Roland Quandt, well-known tipster, mentioned in his tweet.
Samsung SM-T380 / SM-T385 is not Galaxy Tab A 8.0 2017. It’s the Samsung Galaxy Tab A2 S.

The device has already appeared on GFXBench a few days ago as well as cleared TENAA and WiFi Alliance. The SM-T385 is expected to be a revamped A8, but today’s news makes it hard to believe that it may be the Galaxy A8.0(2017).
The device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 clocked at 1.4 GHz, Quad Core Cortex A53 CPU and Adreno 308 GPU. It will be coupled with 16GB internal storage and 2GB RAM. GAlaxy SM-T380/385 is expected to run Android 7.0 Nougat. There are chances for a higher OS, as nowadays devices are coming from the box with Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
Here is the detailed view of GFXBenchmark:
Another good news is that the Galaxy A2 S will be enabled with Samsung’s Personal Voice Assistant, Bixby. The info is from the user manual leaked offline recently.
The devices are available as WiFi only variants as well as with LTE Connectivity. If specified, the SM-T380 will be the Wi-Fi Only variant, and SM-T385 will be LTE connectivity provided option.
The Galaxy Tab A2 S will be launched soon as the clearances are over and it is indeed that the device will be entering as a mid-ranger.
