OPPO’s sub-brand for budget oriented midrange smartphones, Realme, has started sending out invitations for an upcoming smartphone. The company is prepping up to release the Realme 2 Pro, successor to the Realme 2 launched several weeks ago. We could confirm the existence of the smartphone from previous reports as well as from the invitation tagline as well. The company also sets the launch date for the devices to 26th and 27th September.
Going through the media invite images, we could see the tagline “We are back 2 surprise you” with 2, p, r & o highlighted which clearly hints to the Realme 2 Pro. The smartphone is expected to bet the most powerful device in the brand’s lineup, with a Snapdragon chipset instead of MediaTek processors. It would carry at least GB RAM and a Snapdragon 660 Chipset under the hood with the design aspect similar to its predecessor. It will also replace the HD+ display with a Full HD+ screen, with nearly same size and notch at the top edge.
The upcoming Realme 2 Pro will come under the premium midrange segment, to be priced under Rs. 20,000 hopefully. We have no further information regarding the smartphone’s hardware. Although, it will run Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5 on the top layer.
Since the Realme 2 has become the cheapest smartphone to come with such an incredible design and a notch on the display, we can also look forward to a good looking, value-for-money smartphone by the company again.
