No nougat update for the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro and Other Phab Smartphones

The Sad news is here. You won’t get Android nougat update for your Lenovo Phab 2 Pro smartphone. The Phab 2 Pro was first launched last year as the world’s first smartphone with Tango functionalities. It was one of the most trending flagships of Lenovo. But sadly, the company’s update timeline page says no nougat update for the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro.

You are not alone, none of the Phab devices are getting the update. Since it is an official listing of the company, it is 100% true. So it is almost confirmed that the nougat update won’t be available for the Lenovo Phab devices. Definitely, it is a heartbreaking decision by the company as there are many Phab owners out there. The interesting fact is that they are actively releasing updates to the midrange and budget models.

First Project Tango smartphone which was enabled with motion tracking, area learning, and depth perception using advanced sensors and camera modules was launched by Lenovo earlier, named Phab 2 Pro. It is an excellent Project Machine which is capable of wide range of depth sensing, rather than a consumer smartphone. Lenovo Phab 2 is the first and only device which is currently made available using Google’s Project Tango.
