Today Taiwanese giant HTC launched two of their latest smartphones in India HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play, in the premium segment. Both the devices come with unique features and high-end specifications, including a second ticker display on top.
HTC U Ultra features a 5.7-inch QHD Super LCD display along with a 2-inch secondary ticker display on the top portion. The 64GB variant has a Gorilla Glass 5 protection while the 128GB variant offers a sapphire glass protection, which makes it a premium device. The device is powered by Snapdragon 821SoC under its hood coupled with 4GB of RAM. The rear camera of HTCB U Ultra is 12MP ultraPixel sensor and the front-facing selfie unit is a 16MP UltraPixel camera. The rear camera boasts OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), dual-tone LED flash and aperture of f/2.8.
The connectivity side includes USB 3.1 Type-C 4G VoLTE, GPS, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, NFC, DLNA, Miracast and HTC Connect. The fingerprint sensor is mounted on the physical home button. The speakers also have an ‘HTC-Touch’ with HTC’s own Boomsound Hi-Fi speakers with 3D-contoured, liquid-adaptive HTC U sonic technology. The 3000mAh battery pack can be juiced up faster with QuickCharge 3.0.
HTC U Play comes with 5.2-inch full HD super LCD display powered by Mediatek Helio P10 SoC clocked at 2.0GHz. The smartphone has 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of storage option. The rear camera of HTC U Play is of 16MP, supports OIS, BSI, and PDAF. The 16-megapixel UltraPixel camera locates at the front with BSI sensor and aperture of f/2.0.
The connectivity features of HTC UPlay is same as U Ultra, but with USB 2.0 Type-C and 2500mAh battery. It also has the fingerprint scanner on the physical home button.
Both the new HTC smartphones will be available by March in Blue, Black, Pink, and White color options. The U Ultra will be priced at 59,999 INR while U Play costs 39,999 INR. HTC also provides a Liquid-Physical damage insurance warranty for 1-year to the smartphones.
