Android Oreo upgrade is a much-awaited update for the Honor 7X users. But the company hasn’t announced any updates about the availability of the 7X models. However, during the launch, the company promised the upgrade in the near future. Now, the official Twitter account of the Honor US announced the availability of the update. According to the tweet, Honor 7X users in the United States will receive the Android oreo update on 30th April.
Along with the promised Oreo update, Honor will include the newest version of their custom UI, EMUI 8.0 with the package. It has more deep customizations and added performance enhancements. The update will bring all new features such as picture-in-picture mode, Autofill API, face unlock feature, the ability to connect to two Bluetooth devices at once, a floating navigation dock, and a way to restore photos you accidentally delete from the Honor gallery app. It will also bring a redesigned settings app.
Concerning the Hardware properties of the Honor 7X, the smartphone comes with a 5.93-inch IPS LCD Display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, with the same old width but an elongated height to top. However, there are some visible bezels on the sies, so deploying the device with 18:9 display actually did not make any mean regarding bezels.
The display has a FHD+ resolution ( 1080 x 2160px), with a 2.5D glass on top. The smartphone is powered with Huawei’s HiSilicon Octa-Core Kirin 659 SoC, which also powers recently launched Honor 9i mid-ranger The device comes mainly in three different variants- 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, whereas the RAM for three of the variants is fixed at 4 gigabytes.
