After launching a series of smartphones in the label of nostalgic NOKIA brand by the new owner HMD global, the company seem to be working hard to raise its reputation within several global markets with timely updates and better support. So we all are expecting the new version of the Android operating system, the Android 8.0 Oreo update to be brought towards the new Nokia smartphones sooner, especially in the latest flagship Nokia 8.
HMD Global at last day’s Nokia 8 launching event in Taiwan has announced that the company’s flagship smartphone would receive an Android Oreo OTA (Over-the-Air) update, as early as October. It was clear that the Nokia was planning for a global OTA push for all of the Nokia 8 units with the latest Android oreo before the year ends.
We already have seen a Geekbench benchmarking listing which revealed the Android Oreo internal Beta testing result of Nokia 8 smartphone. After then, we have not heard any rumors or reports yet so far. But today, by the official announcement it is confirmed that the Android Oreo will be rolling out to every single Nokia 8 unit sold out worldwide (would be on the basis of the region too, however it will be a global push). The Android Oreo update for other devices will be rolled out before December, would be along with the possible Nokia 2 budget series smartphone.
In case you tend to remember, the Nokia 8 flagship was launched by HMD Global back in August with some of the top-tier hardware seen on a typical 2017 flagship onboard. The smartphone features a 5.3-inch QHD display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and 4/6GB of RAM. The device has dual 13MP Carl Zeiss lens on the primary camera department with OIS.
