Facebook-owned social media platforms including Facebook web, Instagram, and WhatsApp were down for almost one hour on Monday due to a creepy networking bug. All of the three leading social media exchange platforms were not available for many of the users worldwide. This unexpected outrage has affected several parts of the world including US, Canada, and India. It has also affected the business of many companies who are depending on these social platforms. However, people suddenly started complaining on Twitter with special hashtags as usual.
Down Detector, a platform that observes website outages and malfunctions was the first to report the shutdown. #FacebookDown #InstagramDown became global trends on Twitter with frustrated user tweets comparing Facebook’s frequent downtime with Twitter’s every 27-minute update – reports Mysmartprice.
“Earlier today, a networking issue caused some people to have trouble accessing or posting to various Facebook services,” Facebook spokesperson Jay Nancarrow said in a statement. “We quickly investigated and started restoring access, and we have nearly fixed the issue for everyone. We’re sorry for the inconvenience,” he added.
