Taiwanese electronics giant Asus has announced the existence of Zenfone 4 series Smartphones back in Las Vegas CES. The company had planned to launch the device in May, but it later got postponed for an uncertain period due to the time taken for upgrading efficiency, according to Asus.
Asus has now confirmed that the new Zenfone 4 series smartphones will be revealed by the end of July, which is the third quarter of 2017. The all new Zenfone 4 flagship device is expected to cost around $500, also there will be many other variants to the series including Zenfone 4 Max, 4s Max, etc. The next series, Zenfone 5 is also confirmed to see the light by MWC 2018.
It sounds very strange that Asus has already a set of devices named Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 5, with lower phase of specs packed. Now, releasing the Zenfone 4 and Zenfone 5 by next year, the company has no word about their names. So, it is obvious that the OEM is not reinventing the same device, but just ignoring the older devices and hang on to their names just to keep the series enumeration regular and fit to contemporary trend. The Asus will make the debut of Zenfone AR, the Project Tango based top tier smartphone capable of capturing 3D world with accurate measurements, by June 14 in Taiwan and in US before July.
