Motorola seems to have started rolling out the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update for their Moto Z smartphone users. The update is currently live only in several countries like Hong Kong and Indonesia. The company has already released the Android 7.1.1 with April security patch for their mid-range premium smartphone Moto Z Play back in June. Now, they have started rolling out the latest update for Moto Z too. The new update surprisingly has the most recent Security Patch update from the Google of month July.
The update confirmation was initially found on the Lenovo forums; here an Indonesian user posted about the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update which has been hit the Moto Z smartphones. He posted two screenshots, which clearly shows the update version and Build Number change. With the new update, the Build Number has been changed to NPL26.118-20 along with the Security Patch date to July 1, 2017. The Indonesian device which has gotten the update is the one having the model number: XT1650-03.
The software channel is retapac, same as that of Moto Z Play. According to the user, the update was started hitting the devices in Indonesia from July 16th, exactly three days back. ALso, the update reportedly has begun receiving for the users from Hong Kong too.
The Moto Z was the company’s last year’s modular flagship device with a brain-storming design and SNapdragon 820 under the hood. The device was a massive hit among the premium buyers, now the series to be upgraded by Moto Z2.
