A few weeks ago, Hmd global released the beta builds for the Android 8.0 oreo for Nokia 8 devices. Now, the company has announced the availability of Android Oreo beta builds for the Nokia 5 smartphones. It took at least a month time for the company to bring the stable update after it announced the beta update. So we are expecting similar time frame for the Nokia 5. The final build could be rolled out by next month.
Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer of Hmd Global has tweeted this news about the availability of beta builds of Android Oreo for Nokia 5. He tweeted: #AndroidOreo for #Nokia5 has landed on Nokia phones beta labs! Android has never tasted sweeter. What’s more, Android 8.0 Oreo™ beta #Nokia6 is coming soon! http://nokia.com/phones/betalabs
While we recall, the Nokia 5 was launched back in February this year, with 5.2-inch LCD HD display, powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC. The first variant of the smartphone did offer only 2GB of RAM onboard, along with the 16GB internal storage. The device sports a 13MP primary camera in the rear-facing department, whereas the front facing selfie snapper boasts an 8 Megapixel sensor. The metal-made smartphone has a fingerprint scanner mounted on the physical home button, just below the display.
