Chinese OEM Huawei’s sub-brand Honor’s new flagship device Honor 9 has just launched today, announced a few weeks back. The company has already announced its youth-targeted smartphone’s availability in EU countries from today onwards. Apart from that, they have also claimed that currently there is no plan to bring the flagship smartphone to US Market very soon.
Many will be amazed by reading this because its preceding flagship Honor 8 was launched in the US much earlier than every other global market with extra expectations and expatriation. The Honor 8 was obviously expedient in the scenario of US market, yet it could not achieve the marked target in the market. The company had also faced some backfiring from the US, even though it was enough higher end. Now, the company has launched next device is series with beautifully crafted design and highly appreciable hardware approach. According to company officials, they have currently no plan to launch the device in IS like last year. Also, it is not clear whether they have planned something for later. The company seems to be launching the device so earlier in Europe but this time too they are just getting ready to launch Honor 8 Pro is some markets like India. so we could expect the debut of Honor 9 in Indian market by Q3 only, like last year. From the official words regarding US launch:
There are no current plans to bring the Honor 9 to the U.S. Honor innovates and provides state-of-the-art products based on our in-depth understanding of local customer needs and consumer behavior, ensuring that each market receives the best-fit model. Later this year, you can expect to hear more about new devices that will be available in the U.S.
Honor 9 features a 5.15 inch Full HD display, powered by HiSilicon Kirin 960 SoC with 6 Gigs of RAM onboard. The 128GB internal storage is expandable. The smartphone packs a dual camera setup on the rear with 12MP+20MP duo pairs. The 3200mAh battery could be strong enough to back the device up for a dozen hour or less in continuously running. The same Type-C port, fingerprint scanner and glass metal body reminding of the Honor 8. The back glass body has just gotten a curve on edges, with the more shiny surface. The device runs Android Nougat, topped with EMUI 5.1.
The price listing for Honor 9 in the UK starts at 450 Euro, which is almost similar to its rival from China itself – OnePlus 5. Personally, I’d prefer Honor a better option to go.
