We have already reported that the next generation Pixel devices from the Google are codenamed as “Walleye”, “Muskie” and “Taimen”. As the Taimen supposed to come with larger display and Walleye with smaller, the “Muskie” device has been reportedly cancelled by Google.
Now, a bug report on Google Issue Tracker website reveals about the Taimen device, supposedly the second generation Pixel XL with larger display. From the bug report, the Google points out the USB PD (Power Delivery) fault by describing bug path to undergo, which is – Android > Partner > External > LGE > Taimen > power. By just readng the above, it is obvious that the LGE stands for LG Electronics and it happens to be true as the Google to go after the innovation in large display for the device “Taimen”, where LG has Flexible OLED displays under development. Second gen Pixel with smaller display, codenamed as “walleye” will be manufactured by HTC itself as they have made first generation of Pixel and Pixel XL in it’s incredible with quality hardware configuration.
The Google is expected to launch Pixel 2 and Pixel XL2 (names are to be announced) by Q3 or Q4 this year, made by HTC and LG and will carry the same tagline “Made by Google” with “Android O” and Pixel launcher onboard.
