Xiaomi has just officially confirmed the arrival of the higher storage variant of their entry level Android smartphone Redmi Go. However, the company hasn’t revealed any information about the higher variant of the device. Since the phone is currently being sold in the market with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, the higher variant is expected to come with 16GB of internal storage. But the Redmi Go is Xiaomi’s offering to the Android Go project, so there won’t be any improvements in the RAM size.
Xiaomi onĀ Friday tweeted an image with a hashtag #AapkiNayiDuniya. This same hashtag was used to promote their Redmi Go earlier model also. The company asks the followers to guess the phone model in the new tweet they are promoting. The phone in the tweet image resembles the Redmi Go smartphone and they mentioned about the increased storage space.
The phone was originally launched back in March, this year for Rs. 4,499 with Android Oreo based Android Go operating platform. It came out with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The phone features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. The device has an 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. The front panel has an 5-megapixel selfie camera. Since the users were experiencing various limitations caused by the limited storage space, this new model will be a great hit among them.
