Finally, WhatsApp is working on a feature which everyone was waiting for. According to the serial tipster WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently testing the much awaited dark mode. The tipster informed us that they found several important references to the presence of dark mode in the Android app of WhatsApp. So it looks like WhatsApp is also joining the bandwagon of other leading apps such as Telegram, Twitter, Reddit etc. This dark mode feature will help Android users to save their battery juice if they are using the smartphones with OLED displays.
However, we don’t have any updates on whether it will be optimized for OLED screens or not. If it is optimized for the OLED screens, then smartphones with such displays can turn off individual pixels to disable the color on that. In this way, it helps to reduce the battery usage by providing in-depth dark mode than the normal black mode. The announcement from the WABetaInfo reads:
I’m happy to exclusively give the good news: WhatsApp is finally working on a Dark Mode! It’s a dream 😍
There are many important secret references in recent updates!Be patient to see it out, hoping it will be FULL OLED friendly for Android phones, iPhone X and newer!

Despite the battery saving capability, the dark mode can easily help your eyes from trouble. If you are a person who uses your smartphone in very low light conditions, the chances for several eye problems are very high. Therefore, this dark mode will reduce your strain while texting at midnight. 😉
