Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo had showcased their innovative smartphone design Vivo APEX back in MWC this year. Recent reports suggest that the company is moving closer to the final stages of production and is expected to launch early-June. The smartphone now leaks in a real-world image, showing the production model design of the smartphone. The smartphone design was already showcased as a prototype earlier, but the production model was thought to be different. But the assumptions are proved wrong with the latest leak.
The newly leaked image of Vivo APEX shows the all-screen design on the front, with narrow bezels around the frame. The smartphone, as we have seen earlier, comes with an elevating front camera, placed at the top edge frame. The device does not count any bezel or notch on the display surface to place any other sensors. Even the earpiece speaker is implemented under the display. Talking about the major highlights, the half-screen fingerprint recognition area makes it a unique craft among any other flagship smartphones. From the images, it is obvious that the company still follows the design they have been teasing over the time.
The leak also reveals the hardware specifications of the Vivo APEX. The smartphone holds Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC under the hood, paired with 8GB RAM. The device runs Android 8.1.0 Oreo with May 2018 Security Patch, topped with Funtouch OS 4.0. Also, the model name seems to differ from the name APEX. But it is not clear what Vivo gives as the final name; does not seem to be “APEX” as well.
We can expect the official debut of the flagship smartphone on June 12.
