Xiaomi has released yet another upgrade. The Redmi Note 3 series devices are now receiving the MIUI 9.5 Global ROM upgrade. The company released the same update last week for the Redmi Note 4 devices. Now the Note 3 series is getting the promised upgrade. It is surprising to see a 2 year old Chinese device still receiving software upgrades. There is nothing new in this update as it contains some bug fixes and minor user interface improvements only.
Xiaomi announced a massive list of 40 devices that will get the MIUI 9 and just two months later confirmed that 30 of them will be getting Global Stable MIUI 9.5 ROM. The update is bringing security updates, New Notification Shade feature for Bundles Notifications and Quick Reply. Many of you should be able to progressively receive the update over-the-air (OTA) on your phones. If you are using the above devices and haven’t got the update, please don’t worry, we will release the update to all users as soon as possible.
MIUI 9.5 Global Stable ROM has started rolling out for Redmi Note 4 MTK, Redmi 3S, Redmi 4 Prime, Redmi Note 3 Special Edition, Redmi Note 3 Qualcomm, Redmi Note 4 Qualcomm/Redmi Note 4X, Redmi 4A, Redmi 5 Plus, Mi Max, Redmi Note 5/Pro, Mi MIX 2 and Mi Max Prime. Now it is available for the Redmi Note 3 devices too. The latest software version is V9.5.1.0.MHOMIEK and is around 425 MB in size. The update contains January security patches too, but still it runs on Android Marshmallow operating system.
