Features
Both the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the S9+ smartphones pack a lot of features, from security aspect to the fun level. The smartphones are featured with a quad-level security system, based on biometrics and passwords. Now, the smartphones can be secured with an iris scanner, smart facial recognition, fingerprint scanner and password/PIN/Patterns. The fingerprint scanner is located just below to the rear camera department.
Taking account of some earlier rumours, we have expected the smartphones to sport in-screen fingerprint scanners, which would have become more innovative and convenient concerning the design. But the Samsung dropped the plan due to security flaw and speed limitations.
Ever since the Samsung started teasing the next flagship Galaxy device for 2018, they quoted “Camera Redefined”, and it seems worth discussing. The Korean manufacturer had made another milestone in smartphone camera industry with its dual aperture lenses on smartphones for the first time. Unlike the older static lenses, the new camera lens on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are capable of adjusting the aperture width, in order to fit the light sensitivity of the IPU. When the smartphone camera is in normal conditions, the device will automatically set the aperture to f/1.5, and it will be increased to f/2.4 while shooting the super slow-mo videos at 960 Frames Per Second. In case you are unaware, higher the aperture, lesser the light sensitivity becomes. So when capturing 960 frames in a second, there is a chance for more light to enter the sensor and to result in over-exposed frames. On the other hand, the f/1.5 standard aperture lets more light to enter the lens, and smartphone will be capable of capturing amazing shots even in low-light conditions.
The dual-stereo speakers and boxed in-ear earphones provided along with the retail box are powered by AKG Acoustics, by Harman. The stereo Dolby Surround sound with the bezel-less infinity display can immerse users into the entertainment world.
Apart from the new improvements on the hardware side, the company has managed to unveil a new feature named AR Emoji. Of course, it is another rival for the Apple’s Animoji on Apple iPhone 8, X models. While comparing both, Samsung’s AR Emoji has gotten a bunch of many features which would let the Korean manufacturer surpass the Apple. While the Apple Animoji provides specifically predefined emojis, which can mimic your facial expressions, the Samsung introduced a “realistic” AR sticker feature, which would just turn your face directly into a 3D Augmented Reality Emoji, which can even generate 100+ facial expressions and are highly customizable.
Another feature includes the Artifical Intelligence powered Samsung Bixby Personal Assistant. The Bixby has been recognized as one of the best smartphone-centric AI-Assistant having the most power over smartphone controls. It is now capable of real-time language transliteration, machine learning and object recognition.
