Several hours ago, we reported about a couple of newly coming chipsets from the Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturer Mediatek. The alleged Mediatek Helio P40 and Helio P70 chipsets are expected to be unveiled in MWC 2018, next month. Ahead of the official launch, the AnTuTu benchmark scores of the Helio P70 chipset is now out, and it scores well in overall.
The AnTuTu version 7 result shows the chipset complete chipset capability. The CPU performance scores 73969 while the GPU scores 30737 in AnTuTu. Comparing with the previous chipset form he Mediatek, the Memory test score has improved a lot. But the UX score is still lagging behind, compared with the 10nm Helio X30. The Helio P70 scores 41089 in User Experience and 11111 in the Memory test. The total overall rating of the chipset is 156906 which is quite impressive. The former flagship level chipset Mediatek Helio X30 could even gain only 141982 in total. Here is a quick graph comparison with the major rivals of the Helio P70 chipset.
As the company claimed to have held the production of X-series chipsets and focusing on the P-series, it is evident that the company will try to release many powerful chipsets soon including the mid-range aimed Helio P40 and Helio P70. Hopefully, the leaked information bespeaks that there is a golden era of Mediatek chipsets ahead which even could bring a high-stakes competition in the semiconductor market.
The Helio P70 will be manufactured with 12nm TSMC process, in case you missed the older stories. The System-on-Chipset sports eight-cores, four of Cortex A73 and the rest of A53. The GPU integrated into Mali G72 MP4, along with Cat.13 4G LTE Modem. The Chip is expected to power many devices by Mid-2018, competing against Qualcomm Snapdragon 660/670 and Exynos 7872.
