Today at a press event in New Delhi, HMD Global unveiled their new device to the Nokia portfolio in India, the new Nokia 5. The Nokia 5 is a flagship phone from the company which is now official in the country. The device costs Rs. 36,999 in India and will be available from October 14 in India. Just like the previous models, this smartphone is also an Amazon exclusive device. Nokia is expanding their partnership with Amazon India to sell it exclusively via Amazon.
The Nokia 8 packs with premium features and hardware onboard. It runs on a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4 Kryo cores clocked at 2.5GHz and 4 Kryo cores clocked at 1.8GHz. It has a 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM as well. The device comes with a 5.3-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top. It runs on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Nokia has promised the availability of Android Oreo update for the device.
The Nokia 8 smartphone features a dual rear camera system with two 13-megapixel sensors – one is an RGB sensor and features optical image stabilisation (OIS), while the other is a monochrome sensor. Both of the sensors have f/2.0 aperture. The smartphone features a dual-tone LED flash as well. The biggest USP of this smartphone is its new feature called ‘bothies’. It lets you click photos using front and rear cameras simultaneously. On the front, it has a 13-megapixel sensor for selfies.
The Nokia 8 features a 64GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded using a microSD card for up to 256GB. This phone has a hybrid dual-SIM configuration. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (v3.1), and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone is measured at 151.5×73.7×7.9mm and comes with a 3090mAh non-removable battery.
