Lenovo-owned Motorola has released the list of smartphones which are eligible for the Android 8.0 Oreo update. The official listing revealed by the company includes the new generation moto smartphones. However, the Moto G4 is missing from the list. As per the official information, Moto G4 devices won’t be able to get the Android Oreo update.
In a blog post, Moto announces: ” We’re happy to confirm Android 8.0 Oreo will be joining our fleet of Motorola smartphones, starting this fall.” The official listing includes Moto Z, Moto Z Droid, Moto Z Force Droid, Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Play Droid, Moto Z2 Play, Moto G5, Moto G5 Plus, Moto G5S, and Moto G5S Plus. The Moto G4 series is missing from the list as it is not eligible for the update as of now.
In addition to this official listing, the company opens a new page for tracking the update status for your devices. In the official release of this page, the company concludes: “The next generation of Android – Android 8.x Oreo – has been released to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). We will be working with our technology and carrier partners to bring it to you.”
